South Forda is ideally located to travel deeper into Cornwall via idyllic country roads or the Atlantic Highway. You will encounter the spectacular scenery of the North Cornwall coast. The closest beach is only 3 miles away, and the seaside town of Bude is 6 miles distant, with its beaches, 18 hole golf course, indoor leisure pool, bowling centre. There are also three supermarkets in Bude, Morrisons, Co-op and Sainsburys. The town has a selection of shops, pubs and resturants.
Local country pubs with good food include: London Inn, New Inn, Bush Inn, Tree Inn.

North Cornwall has a renowned surfing coast along with its superb beaches (inc. Widemouth Bay nearby), spectacular countryside and beautiful towns and villages. The rugged coastline is dotted with tiny coves and shallow bays.

There is so much to see and do from walking to windsurfing. With a warmer climate than the rest of England, Cornwall has a number of botanical gardens and nature reserves.
You will be spoilt for choice for attractions with something to suit all tastes which include: The Milky Way, The Big Sheep, The Eden Project (1 hour drive), The Launceston Steam Railway (open during summer only) and The Tamar Lakes (walking distance) where there is a variety of water sports and fishing. Further afield (around 40 mins away) is Tintagel the legendary home of King Arthur and the Round Table.
There are several golf courses in the area such as Holsworthy, Trethorne and Launceston. The Bude & North Cornwall Golf Club is located in the center of Bude surrounded by the town, coast and countryside. A very good golf course close by is Ivyleaf, which is open 7 days a week, no booking is required and welcomes non-members - Mountain boarding is also available.
